Lamar Odom is currently scheduled to fight Jennifer Lopez‘s ex-husband, Ojani Noa, in a celebrity boxing match that will be held in Miami.
According to TMZ, the upcoming head-to-head is set to be held at the James L. Knight Center on October 2nd.
The 41-year-old former professional basketball player was previously set to take on a former heavyweight boxing champion until the fight card was changed at the last minute.
Noa, 47, was romantically involved with Lopez from 1997 until 1998 when the pair decided to end their marriage.
Following the couple’s split, the former waiter attempted to publish a book about their marriage, although the hitmaker sued him, alleging that they had previously agreed not to share any details about their relationship.
She was later awarded nearly $545,000 regarding the matter and went on to halt the release of a tape that was shot during their honeymoon.
Celebrity Boxing CEO Damon Feldman previously announced that Odom’s former opponent, Riddick Bowe, was pulled from the event due to his declining health.
The former boxing champion had not won in a professional bout since 2008, the year of his last fight.
The move to pull the athlete from the card was reportedly spurred by Evander Holyfield’s recent loss to MMA star Vitor Belfort, which was criticized by many who were concerned about the former’s health.
Fans pointed to a video that had been released that showed the boxer exhibiting obvious signs of physical impairment during a training session.
