Bowe, who is turning 54 next month, will face 41-year-old former basketball star Lamar Odom on a wild celebrity boxing card that will also include Paulie Malignaggi vs Tik Tok star Corey B .
Former world heavyweight champion Riddick Bowe will return to the ring at age 54 to fight basketball star Lamar Odom in a celebrity boxing match later this year.
The fight is expected to take place on October 2 at the James L. Knight arena in Miami, and will see Bowe, who celebrates his 54th birthday this August, take on the ex-NBA player.
Celebrity Boxing boss Damon Feldman has confirmed to TMZ that there is a deal in place to have Bowe fight the 6’10” two-time NBA champion.
The event will also feature a hotly anticipated bout between Paulie Malignaggi and Tik Tok star Corey B, who attacked Malignaggi at the last celebrity boxing match on which the ex-boxer was commentating.
Malignaggi vs Tik Tok star have been going back-and-forth on social media for months, and finally will step into the ring together on the undercard of Bowe’s return.
Odom won his celebrity boxing debut against musician Aaron Carter in a bizarre fight earlier this year, and is now set for a big step up.
Bowe confirmed his return to the ring earlier this year, with former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs a potential opponent, although Briggs turned down the bout saying he didn’t want to hurt his friend.
“I love him, I love him. He’s the best. I love him to death, he’s Brownsville you know, man,” Briggs told DAZN. “But it’s not, it’s not anything for me to hurt my brother, even though he might hurt me anyway. Look how big he is. ”
